Hanna Americana

Well, we've been waiting all day for this Hanna storm (isn't she a broadcaster on ESPN?) to arrive. Pictured above, Hanna Storm. It's heading our way fairly soon. As of last night, our meteorologists were fairly certain that by this time of day, the worst would be over and here it is, this time of day, and the ship hasn't even hit the sand yet. But in an hour or so we have to head out to round up the family for my sister's surprise birthday party...so I will delay publication on the off chance that she's reading this...and hope there is electricity in the house (knock on wood) when we get home.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here's Hannah Storm, of ESPN.

I believe she used to be on the Early Show on CBS, but I'm hardly alone in not being sure about that.

This smiling visage greets all visitors to Delaware; Hanna will be one of them this afternoon, but it's unlikely that she will have need to enter a Happy Harry's Drug Store. That's Harry, beaming down on all who enter his emporia - which are statewide in the Blue Hen state - and I really have to hand it to him for coming up with the greatest name ever for a drug store. I mean, what do we have around here - CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid? All of them lack in the name pizzaz of Happy Harry's! Doggone it, having a Happy Harry's in the neighborhood would make you want to run down there right now! to load up on Alka-Seltzer, hair preparations and those luxury creams and lotions so helpful in the prevention of chafe.

Springfield, home town of the Simpsons, has some highly cool names for stores...The Leftorium, Hairy Shearers (where Homer goes for haircuts) and Jittery Joe's Java Hut, among them. And while it's fun to need groceries and say "I have to go to Mars," it would be fun to have a Happy Harry's to visit as well. I don't ask for much.
