Say cheese

The picture and photo site Reddit has a million and one subreddits, and probably subreddits for the subreddits. But here's a really interesting story from their page "AITA?" which stands for "Am I The Ass?" Yes. Let's say that.

The story is, the writer is a photographer of animals. Their friend lacked the money to hire a fully-qualified wedding photographer, so they asked the animal photographer to do the honors.

The facts are stark: they were to be on the job from 11 AM to 7:30 PM. For $250! The guy who takes your picture in Times Square and then hands you a card to tell you how to purchase a print makes a lot more than that.

And then, at 5 o'clock, they broke out the food and drink for dinner, but the photographer is told they cannot stop to have a sandwich or a drink. No, the picture-taking cannot stop, because every wedding album has to have pictures of Uncle Earl and Aunt Pearl shoving tiny sandwiches down their necks.

Oh, and I should mention it was like 110° while all this was going on, the photographer had finished the water bottles they brought, and was told, "No water for you!"

Not even one horse douver, as we call hors d'oeuvres around here.

We've all been through hellish weddings, whether it was the heat or the long wait for the chow to come out or the obnoxious guests or the band playing "Shout" too loudly, but we hung in there.

This photographer did not. Told by their "friend" that they must either soldier on and take more pictures or leave without pay, they chose "b."

And they also deleted all the pictures that they had taken. Bazinga!

Can you blame them? I can't!
