What the Hellmann's

Last week, as 1,469 college football bowl games were played in the US, the Golden Gophers of Minnesota defeated the Hokies of Virginia Tech in the Duke's Mayonnaise Bowl, 24-10.

That is a sentence that even people in other parts of the world who speak good English will make no sense of.

Flavor Flav, illustrious Hip Hop legend, was at the game, which was played in Charlotte, North Carolina. Duke's is a very popular mayonnaise down there, but I feel safe in saying that Hellmann's is still tops here in Baltimore. Anyway, Mr. Flav was there, prancing around in the "Tubby" outfit, serving as the brand's mascot on the national stage.

The postgame fun reached a zenith as Flav helped apply a mayonnaise bath to P. J. Fleck, the winning coach.

Now, I have put mayonnaise on sandwiches and salads since Duke was in diapers, and either Duke's is the consistency of pancake batter, or they watered it down for the sake of pouring it over the hapless coach. I don't know, but I'm glad no one pours anything over my melon. Wasting food is not a good look.
