Thomas Jefferson's Rules for Life

Still worthy of consideration...

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today

Never trouble others for what you can do yourself

Never spend your money before you have it

Never buy what you do not want because it is cheap

Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst and cold

We never repent of having eaten too little

Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly

How much pain have those evils cost us which never happened

Take things always by their smooth handle

When angry, count to ten before you speak - if very angry, a hundred

Interesting he should say that about spending money before you have it, since he's become known as a rather profligate spendthrift who died deeply in debt. Probably uttered in a "do as I say, not as I do" moment. Oh yeah, that, and the whole slavery thing, Sally Hemings, etc....
