Interesting...

"Reader's Digest" used to have a page called "Points To Ponder." Maybe they still do; I don't know....I'll have to think about it.


But this would be a nice fit for that column. An Englishman named Harold Nicolson, described everywhere as a "politician, diplomat, historian, biographer, diarist, novelist, lecturer, journalist, broadcaster, and gardener," once took time from all the above pursuits to point out, diplomatically, that "99 out of 100 people are interesting...and the 100th is interesting because he is not."

By Jove, he makes a point! Sometimes we have to dig and dig to find it, but just about everyone has a story to tell. 

And when you find that one-in-a-hundred whose personality is as lively as a wax gong, your consolation is that you will meet 99 more people before you meet your next dud.
