Name, please?

My cousin Ann has a daughter named Chris who has a daughter named Haley who has a daughter named Wren, making me 4th cousin of a girl with one of the three coolest girl names on my big list of favorite things.

Yes, friends, if God had sent Peggy and me a son, I would have wanted to name him Elvis. Peggy might have felt otherwise, but I would have campaigned hard, including television commercials and highway billboards, to name a baby girl Wren, Luna, or Echo.

My fourth cousin shares her name with a woman I'm proud to know as a Facebook friend, Wren Stewart Tidwell, the daughter of country music legend Wynn Stewart.  I don't know a Luna, although that's the name of Sgt. Gray's wife on "The Rookie."

I've heard of a few ladies named Echo, none as prominent as the late Echo McGuire Griffith, Buddy Holly's girlfriend from back home in Lubbock, Texas, until she dumped him. She met another guy and embarked on a religious path with him, and Buddy's true love came his way that same year, so life goes on and on.

If there's a baby coming into your life, I have all the time in the world to help with name suggestions and dietary concerns. No diaper changes, please.

Buddy and Echo, mid-50s.
