I can't tell if this was made at a beach or a sidewalk or a backyard but it's a pretty doggone good picture of the world we share!
In Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Sharalee Armitage Howard had to say goodbye to her big tall 110-year-old black cottonwood tree. It was dead, rotten, inside, but rather than part with it, she had the top cut off and turned the rest into one of those little neighborhood magical libraries.

Nature has its ways of making some animals blend in with their surroundings, and then some would stand out anywhere. Believe it or not, this is a pink Malaysian orchid mantis. If you never saw one, perhaps Katydid.
