In Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Sharalee Armitage Howard had to say goodbye to her big tall 110-year-old black cottonwood tree. It was dead, rotten, inside, but rather than part with it, she had the top cut off and turned the rest into one of those little neighborhood magical libraries.
