The Saturday Picture Show, May 5, 2018

I don't know what kind of bird this is, but he/she certainly is lithe and limber!
They needed a picture of a young "Red" in the Shawshank Redemption movie. Remember, Morgan Freeman was playing a guy who had been inside for a long, long time. So for the mugshot of his entry photo, they got a guy who looks like the young Morgan...his son, Alfonso.
I like this knife block and salute the creativity. Perhaps some glue or a lag bolt might have been a better fastener than some butcher's string, though. Interesting that none of these books look to be cookbooks, with the possible exception of "Reach For The Sky."
Those rocket scientists are so smart and everything. Orange you glad they send people to the moon? Can you name someone you wish were on the moon?
Having spent many an hour on the business end of a bamboo rake, I now realize I should have thought more about how pretty it is over in Japan where they grow the stuff that makes the rakes.
We were just talking about that time on "The Middle" that Brick insisted on raking leaves categorically...one type of tree at a time. Stare at this array for a minute and your eyes will go all daffy.
Soccer mom solace. Perfect for chilly days, rainy days, and days when you won't care if some ne'er-do-wells roll you down the hill. (Sold in England to "football moms")
I don't think I heard a word about this while it was going on (2014 - 2017) but Montreal Police were arguing about their contracts and asking for a pay raise. While the debate raged on, they were forbidden to strike, but they found a loophole that did not require them to wear regulation pants on duty. So for those years, many of the strikers registered their displeasure by working while wearing pants that M.C. Hammer might have shouted over. Stop!
