The Saturday Picture Show, October 1, 2022

Yesterday was the sad anniversary of the 9/30/1955 auto crash that killed James Dean at this intersection in Cholame, California. He lived, drove, and died recklessly: a shame for a talented actor to waste it like that.
It's interesting that people who are into golf are so intent on their activity that an alligator walking by does not deter them from what they're driving at.
I suppose this happened because he wanted the pizza to see where it was going next.
1981 New Yorker cover by Arthur Getz. Leaf-peeping bus trips must be the most fun ever!
Most of us have seen this from ground level, but this is the way-above view of the jetty at the Ocean City (MD) inlet.
These are all over Baltimore, and it's a shame that other parts of the country don't have pit beef stands, where a roasted beef sammy on rye or a kaiser roll with horseradish and sauce can make your day so great! This is Pioneer Pit Beef in Catonsville.
Do you remember when Volkswagen and Audi were caught rigging their cars' exhaust systems so they would Fahrvergnügen all over town and then cheat to pass emissions tests? And VW/Audi had to buy back all those cars and face massive fines and disgrace. If your car was among them, see if you can spot it among all the others in the Mojave Desert in California. Shame, shame, shame.
One of the events in the 1960s that started to bring country music into mainstream attention was when Buck Owens And The Buckaroos played Carnegie Hall, March 25, 1966. Here they are, in their magnificent Nudie suits: drummer Willie Cantu, steel guitar man Tom Brumley, Buck Himself, lead guitarist and fiddler Don Rich, and rhythm guitarist Doyle Holly.
What's prettier than nature's natural bedding for a pine tree? You don't even need to buy mulch!
These classic lawn and porch chairs will last forever. Paint is sold at most hardware and home good stores.
